From its earliest days, Pearl Buck Center has relied on
generous community support of many kinds to carry out our
important and life-changing work. Even as our scope of service
has evolved, our close ties with an understanding and supportive
community have remained constant.
Our need for your support continues. Here are some ways
you can help.
Families With Special Needs Scholarship
Program:
The Families With Special Needs Scholarship Program depends
in large part upon the generous donations of individuals,
businesses and organizations in our community, and grants
from foundations. A gift of any size will enable this program
to continue to provide critical intervention services to
typically-developing infants and children, and their parents
with developmental disabilities or other special needs.
By sponsoring a child in our Families With Special Needs
Preschool, you enable a child whose parents have special
needs to grow and succeed in a safe and nurturing environment.
A $500 Scholarship will provide a child with one of
the following:
60
hours of comprehensive early intervention preschool.
60
hours of transportation to and from the preschool.
50
hours of home visits by teachers to provide
support
and parent training.
50
hours of case management service to help families
access
financial assistance, medical care, housing, crisis
intervention
and other services for critical needs.
Sponsors will Receive:

Production Equipment Loan Fund:
Pearl Buck Production Services has established a Production
Equipment Loan Fund to set aside monies specifically earmarked
for the purchase of production equipment. The Production
Equipment Loan Fund enables us to secure sustainable work
and employment training opportunities for adults with disabilities,
and generates increased revenue for the organization.
The Production Equipment Loan Fund was established by a
grant of $25,000 from the Ackerley Group. Additional contributions
to the Fund include: $5,000 from Levi Strauss & Co.,
$645 from Dynamix, Inc., and individual donations from the
community.
The Production Equipment Loan Fund is a renewable fund
that has added benefits over a restricted expenditure for
a single piece of major equipment. This fund enables us
to purchase multiple pieces of equipment over time -- continuing
the purchasing power of this grant indefinitely.
Pearl Buck Centers Adult Services Program provides
vocational training, employment and support services to
adults with severe developmental disabilities. Donations
to this program will help individuals to obtain and maintain
jobs in the community and at Pearl Buck Production Services.

Leave a Legacy:
Leave
A Legacy is a campaign to help people in Oregon and Southwest
Washington make the most of their charitable giving now
and in the future. By leaving a gift to a nonprofit organization
in your Will or Estate Plan, you ensure that your assets
continue to help others long after you are not here. And
because of the tax benefits of making charitable contributions
in your Will, it can also benefit the family and friends
who inherit your Estate.
